Music is Magic

Music from the 40s up until the late 80s made its way around the world with the help of vinyl records, 8-track tapes, later cassettes and  then compact discs. The instruments and voices of our talented forefathers filled living rooms and dance-floors alike all over the world. The mixing of infectious rhythmic beats and charismatic voices telling real stories from the streets brought folks together from every walk of life and culture.

Ever since the advent of streaming, things have begun taking a turn for the worse. Music has become a solitary activity. The stream doesn't have the magic that a physical media has. The upside is of course you can have an entire music collection in the palm of your hand. The downside is that music isn't valued as highly anymore.

We here at Orangeburg Records want to bring back some of the magic to music. We want to preserve the value of music whether it be in digital format or analog. Music is precious and magical.
